How to Reduce Chicken Pox Scars

Therefore, it is advisable to include the natural sources of Vitamin E such as papaya, almonds, spinach and avocado in your daily diet if you are having chicken pox scars.

Baking soda in your kitchen may come handy when you suffer from chicken pox. When you are having chicken pox, you must not scratch the skin to avoid leaving scar permanently on it. Baking soda is useful as its alkaline nature reduces the itching sensation while preventing skin irritation. When you don’t scratch your skin, the chances of having scar will be reduced. In addition, the alkaline nature of the baking soda can helps to maintain the pH level of the skin and exfoliate the skin. This allows the skin to breathe properly and thus, reducing the chicken pox scars. All you need to do is mix about three tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of water in a bowl. Mix properly and evenly to make a paste, which can be used to apply on the scars. Rub the paste gently over the skin for a few minutes, for about three times a week.

Coconut water is another way to reduce chicken pox scars as it is rich in minerals like calcium, sodium, magnesium and potassium. Besides, it also contains lauric acid and cytokines that helps to get rid of scars. Another benefit of coconut water is the antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties while regulating cell growth and maintaining the pH of the skin. With all these effects of coconut water, the chicken pox scars can be reduced more effectively. There are a number of ways to use coconut water to reduce chicken pox scars. One of the methods is taking a coconut water bath daily by mixing about two glasses of coconut water to a bathtub of water. Soak yourself in the water for ten minutes daily and may see that the chicken pox scars fading gradually. Alternatively, you may directly apply the coconut water onto the chicken pox scars. You shall repeat it several times a day to fade the scars more effectively.  

Honey can also be used to reduce chicken pox scars since it acts as a natural moisturizer for the skin as well as a bleaching agent that able to help to fade the scars. Apart from that, honey helps to regenerate skin cells and provide the necessary nutrients to the skin. It works simply through the process of osmosis on the skin, in which it draws the nutrients and blood towards the scars and eventually removing the dead skin cells while promoting new skin to regenerate. This process allows the skin to heal and to remove the chicken pox scars. You may create a paste to apply onto the skin by mixing one tablespoon of honey, one tablespoon of oats and one tablespoon of water. You can apply the paste for about 15 to 20 minutes before washing away with water. Follow this method regularly can help to reduce the chicken pox scars.  

Lavender essential oil has antiseptic and antifungal properties that help to rejuvenate the skin. Therefore, it is recommended to be used to reduce and avoid scars. However, do remember to always dilute the lavender essential oil with carrier oil like the olive oil or coconut oil before applying onto the skin with scars. You may simply add about two drops of lavender essential oil to one tablespoon of carrier oil and mix well. Once the mixture is ready, you may apply onto the affected areas on your skin two to three times a day to remove the chicken pox scars.    

Another simple way to reduce chicken pox scars is by using cucumber. This vegetable has great cooling effect to the skin, which can helps to stop irritation and burning sensation because of its high content of water. Moreover, it can help to reduce swelling of the skin and getting rid of skin irritation of the chicken pox. Other benefits of cucumber to chicken pox scars include lightening them and healing the damaged skin. You may add approximately two tablespoon of cucumber juice and some lemon juice for this effect of reducing scars of chicken pox. Soak a cotton ball in the mixture and apply on the scars area and let it stays for about 15 minutes before washing with water. Use this method as frequent as possible to achieve effective result.
